Tabita Berglund

Participant in Opptakt 2019-2021

Tabita Berglund (b. 1989) studies Master in Orchestra Conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music with prof. Ole Kristian Ruud. She is originally a cellist, and studied to a Masters Degree with prof. Truls Mørk. She is a chamber musician and regularly plays in the philharmonic orchestras of Oslo and Bergen, as well as the Trondheim Soloists. In 2015, Tabita began conducting almost by accident, and was completely taken. Conducting has been her main focus since then. This year, she participated in Bernard Haitinks masterclass in Lucerne, Jorma Panulas masterclass in Sønderborg and in the Gstaad Conducting Academy with Jaap van Zweden, where she won the Neeme Järvi prize. After auditions with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Tabita was selected to Opptakt. This includes performances with the Gothenburg Symphony, Oslo Philharmonic, all the Norwegian symphony orchestras as well as the Norwegian National Opera. Photo: Birgit Solhaug

Daniel Reith

Participant in Opptakt 2020-2022

Daniel Reithis studying Master in Conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Prof. Ole Kristian Ruud. Previously he has been studying piano in Freiburg and Oslo, Music theory in Freiburg and Conducting in Frankfurt am Main. Reith is a holder of several scholarships, e.g. of the Wagner-association Frankfurt am Main and the "German Ministry of Culture and Education". He showed himself also strongly as a pianist, both in concerts and competitions, in Germany, Norway and many other countries. Reith has been working with several orchestras throughout Germany and Norway, such as Hamburg Philharmonic, Neubrandenburg Philharmonic, Bergen Philharmonic and Stavanger Symphony. He is a candidate in Dirigentforum from 2019 on, and from 2020 in Opptakt. Photo: Terje Trobe
